Typewriter Repair

User View comments
I could see myself, had I been born a few decades earlier than the 70s, that my analytical and technical skills would have been used on repairing typewriter instead of utilizing my knowledge of computers.  In fact, it may have been more satisfying as it would have allowed me to physically work with my hands.

Anyways, over the weekend I completed replacing a part to my electric typewriter.  It was a little plastic-like strip that wrapped around the motor shaft.  It took me a few hours to initially diagnose it.  I had wrapped a bit of teflon tape around the shaft as a temporary fix, but this weekend, I put a more permanent fix in by replacing the actual part.

Now she runs smooth and quiet.
Oh no's!

I let my front page go blank.  It was only for about 5 minutes, but still, not something I like to see.

I've just been buried in testing and planning here at work.  Just a normal week when we have a bunch of things going on at the same time.  I'm out of here in 45 minutes for the weekend, so I'm smiling:)
